The original of this track, released on Traces's DSCI4 imprint, is a solid techstep roller but this VIP version totally overhauls it and is just pure filth.
It was the first release on Ryme Tyme's own 1210 Recordings and what a way to mint your new label. The intro teases you with distorted, jagged synths and a hazy 'Move' vocal before the drums come in and the tune builds until unleashing a nasty two note riff coupled with a pulsating bassline that never fails to move feet despite the dark vibe. I don't think this tune quite got the recognition it deserved at the time but it remains one of my personal favourites and is still coveted by many enthusiasts of the style.
1210 Recordings later went on to release the only 12" put out by Drum Kru, the DnB supergroup consisting of Bad Company, Ed Rush & Optical, Fierce and Ryme Tyme, but this tune beats that hands down. Check it out in this B2B set from Pascal & Zinc at One Nation 'The 7th Birthday Celebration' from the 4th November 2000:
